After watching many youtube videos about making various gizmos and trinkets out of legos, 5 year old me wanted to give it a shot. I had no idea what I was doing, and the result looked nothing like what I had seen on youtube, but I was proud of myself for making something with my own two hands. Watching this back over a decade later, I notice how energetic I was. For those 30 long minutes I took to assemble the machine, it was the most important thing in my life. It was doing things like this that I believe shaped my creative mindset growing up. These kinds of projects showed me what it was like to think of an idea and follow through with it. In other words, how to be creative.
