How it started
Summer 2025
Recently, I took a leap of faith and applied to a 3 week study abroad program in Kyoto, Japan and was accepted! I am very excited to have been given this opportunity, but I’m honestly a bit nervous about the trip as well. While this does sound very fun and exciting, being in a new, unusual place all alone is intimidating. I have never travelled alone away from my family, let alone on the other side of the world, but I believe I am up for the challenge.
How it ‘s going
I continue to build games, turn my artwork into merch, and create pop-ups where people can interact with and customize my work.
About Me
I’m Truman Cho, a junior at Brooklyn Technical High School in New York. I’ve been ‘making’ things since I was four — games, comics, cardboard consoles, merch, and any other ideas I wanted to create. Most of it started through trial and error, YouTube rabbit holes, and a steep learning curve that slowly turned into success.
Over time, those projects evolved from Scratch games and handmade comics into publicly released games, physical products, character design, and interactive systems. I publish games on itch.io, design custom physical merchandise, and document my progress along the way.
This summer I'm running a research project to study the creative design process within digital mediums.
All started with a comic book I bought for $1 from a kid at the park.
My journey
Cardboard nintendo consoles to my first game on an actual cartridge!
