Last Life Comic Club
4th grade comic book club
The flamethrower was a character I created for my superhero comic book series. It wasn't anything serious or special until fourth grade, when me and a group of friends teamed up to make a comic book business. Each of us had a different role, and we all worked together to carefully plan out each issue of the Flamethrower. My friend did the storyboarding, then I did the drawings, then another friend would do editing, and so on and so forth. Our comics were popular, too. We sold them for $1 per book, and they sold fast. Kids at our school would always be asking us when the next book would come out. There were even several other kids that started making their own comics to sell after we released ours, and would ask me to put advertisements in our comics to promote them. A lot of the books ended up being given away for free to friends and classmates, probably not the smartest business move on my part. By the end of the school year, we had released two issues of the Flamethrower, and made a grand total of $20. Split among the five of us, that was four dollars for each member. Even though we didn't make much money, the memories are priceless.
